What do Massage, Music, Meditation, and Writing have in common?

Massage, music, meditation, and writing clearly have a range of things in common. This has been on my mind for a long time. Since I am intimately involved in these four creative activities, I have had many years to sense what they each need for flourishing.

Quiet, sensitivity, focus, self-awareness, being-in the moment, patience, compassion are human qualitities which are terribly necessary for the success in any of the above creative activities. By simply doing massage, music, meditation, and writing without these gifts, can lead one into a road of chaotic energies, with no direction and little success in the respective fields.

As the practitioner realizes his or her need for being in the moment/quiet/sensitivity/focus/patience/compassion, to achieve great success in the chosen artistic pursuits, each art form becomes more polished. In addition, he or she receives more of the bounties he or she was searching for in the first place.

The "bounties" include, but are not limited to:peace-of-mind, clarity, simple joys, less anxiety, more meaningful communication with others, greater depth in relationships, an increasing appreciation of being alone. Ultimately, and most importantly, one truely learns to love oneself.

May quiet, peace and joy be yours!
Kathryn
