how to be heard, without shouting
turn down the volume of your voice,
so as to be audible, yet not overpowering
in crescendo-- voice trailing
behind your words, which employ
the natural rhythms of breath,
breathing out who you are
the gentle voice of a mourning dove
gets her point across, without the need
to jump up and down-- words carry
their weight on water wings
swans bring, from either side of the pond
communing great grist for the mill
