smooth grey stones

picking queen anne's lace
along with bachelor buttons
of mustard yellow, blackberries
still bursting with plump sweetness

evergreens shining in the pacific salty
air--no cares-- in suspension with sounds
of soft wind currents, traveling on silk pillows
placed magically on dry grass lawn

a circle of pine trees in prayer
around the sacred property
nourished by the deep
soil of coastal waters

nourishing all nomads
who gravitate to drink
from healing waters
waving clarion truths

tended to, as stones gently
tossed on the pebbled beach
prior to sunset
facing westward

smooth grey stones
tumbling within
our pockets,
playful

truth spills her elegance

truth spills her elegance
as we walk north at sunset
sky, heaving with pastel pink

can you hum a tune
whose melody can last one vibrant life
you, my friend are ablaze

dream catchers catch dreams
as if in the recycling bin
reweaving astral visions

we are  portrayed with
clear smooth porcelain features
soul stirring embers

the fires of autumn
crackle as old patterns burn
released in pinon air

towering pines in bellingham~

Breaths and Rests complete

breaths and rests complete
the cycle of life and death
throughout the turning
within the center
of our beings
rising, falling
forever

changing
life rearranges
sometimes estranges
ultimately brings us
back on course
rejoicing in
the circle

completed-
yet infinitely spinning,
leaves stirred, grinning-
after freely falling
upon the warm
september earth
calling us in mirth

purple plums~a duet

purple plums, ripe, warm
fall easily- from branch to palm
we savour her wet flesh

dozens of plums grow
on grey gnarly tree next door
glow in autumn sun

singing bowls praying

singing bowls praying
world affairs flattened--north wind
reassuring peace

purple plums, ripe, warm
fall easily- from branch to palm
we savour her wet flesh

dozens of plums grow
on grey gnarly tree next door
glow in autumn sun

sitting in dry grass
below towering fragrant pines
heaven meets the earth

joy rings in singing
bowls--wide with compassion
all melt who do hear

waterfalls carry
water ceaselessly bringing
still joy in action

imagination's power

the power of the imagination makes us infinite~ j. muir

the sun never surprises us
as it leaps out of the eastern sky

the moon never lets us down
as it skips in toddler sandles

the brave birch--towering
into the infinite blue sky

the maple of motherly compassion
embraces us as we hug her bark

small pools of salty water
held watery by forgiving earth

surface of stoic pond
holding a million eyes

depth of water realizes
the only one way to be

courageous eternity crawls
before standing below opal moon

studied compassion drives
no bargain--knowing fully in the sun

still the cypress breathes
fringed endings--promising

love born out of mother of pearl
will shine forever--purple peace

sunshine rocks the world

sunshine rocks the earth
acceptance pools in furrows
deeply carving room

for rain to fill--for
dirt to moisten- for daisies
to be conceived in grace

do we praise this place,
or blame the stones, wind, chaos;
someone please take a stand

procure burnt sherbert,
roasted mountain black berries
racing to merge with all

what is the sound of
surrendering-- to a higher cause
the ringing of a bell

Let Go and Let God..

We control when we feel controlled.
We become out of control, when we get angry.
We do things we might regret after doing.

What about an alternative to the above scenario?
If you are angry, sad, disappointed by an action or by words spoken to you...
Do you slash back, or do you try to reach a peaceful resolution?
Your style of acting can either create peaceful or chaotic vibrations. The choice is within you.

This theory has been shown time and time again when I facilitate healing. I lift an arm to stretch it..and my client offers her resistance. "That which we resist persists".  Through breathing, opening the energy channels, my client over time learns to relax, and let go. The holding on is so much more painful than the slight sting of releasing a thought emotion or a person.

Let Go and Let God. The journey is a lot more enjoyable. Your friends will notice your changed cheerful disposition. Celebrate your ability to focus on letting go of those things, people, places who no longer serve your best interest. And allow yourself to be bathed by the infinite joy of living a life colored with integrity, truth, beauty and joy.

Love and blessings,
Rosha Kate
Eleven Years Ago, 9/11/01

♥..I was getting my oil changed in my car..and my mechanic told me what had, only minutes ago happened...
Then I called my dad, because I did not wish to be alone..We went kayaking on the Carmans river.
.It was a bright blue sky, with cool crisp clean air.

Peace and courage, love and compassion-- to all those who lost loved ones...(♥)

The first Tuesday after Labour Day, 2012

Tuesday, September 4th, 2012

It's the first day after labour day. A day signaling for many the beginning of a new school year, or back to work from a long summer vacation. To me, it signals the stirrings of fall-- my favorite season. It will be cooler, drier, and I'll be able to walk more in nature. I'll be able to think more clearly, and sleep more deeply-- breathing in the fresh air blowing through the northern facing windows.

I never feel sad saying goodbye to summer. Almost every  time I was moved to go to the beach(on that perfect 80 degree dry blowy day)..I'd get ready, and by the time I'd get to the beach the weather would change, or it would be low tide. Or something annoying like that. I can count on one hand the number of times I went to the beach, and enjoyed myself for two hours or less. Usually the mornings, before the sun would heat up the sky, and before the humidity would dampen my spirit. I welcome the sound of the word 'september', and all of its implied meanings and nuances.

Today...the  rain came down, on and off throughout the morning, and afternoon. I checked on my garden friends, weeded and dead headed the flowers. Bought some fresh local organic produce. Presently I smell the wonderful savory aromas of chicken sausages, red peppers, onions, and broccoli simmering on the stove. A simple, yet deep joy to know...it is cool enough to cook again!

Bless this planet. May healing be felt to those in need. May no one go hungry or be homeless. May we replace greed and competition with kindness and a cooperative spirit.

Love and light
Kate xx

honeysuckles bloom again

honey suckles bloom again
this crazy hot september day
the birds sing plaintive at six am
they signal the gentle turning
of re- awakening  blossoms

on their second go round
green leaves up side down
like learning a new language
pressing/rearranging hemispheres of the brain
into new avenues of sun followed by rain

to welcome that countenance
as endings of our favorite books
we learn to savour, without the sadness
which speaks volumes, " oh how i wished
that book would never end"

we open our selves
as robins bare their red breasts
as hummingbirds flit their iridescence
purples, blues, neon greens
full well knowing, the in-betweens

all those perfect pauses
shown in hotter, yet shorter afternoons--
followed by earlier, cooler evenings
aligns and refreshes everything-
forever sings
