purple iris-a string of five haiku~

purple iris smells
like a soft lemon pound cake
regal in may wind

upright, until soft
gusts of grasses, nearby hush
clear across flowers

purple hue remains
even when petals do droop-
falling- kiss the stoop

metallic chimes ring
in between flower's bright sheen
and day's soft closing
