while walking

while walking in between
the pounding rain, and the waiting for
the wetness to saturate
flowers trees and bird songs

we notice our arches rising
to meet up with the spaces
elongating the time in between
the pounding rain, and the waiting for

the streaming blessings to become
no different than the we
we thought we grew up graciously
spinning stories from earth tone yarns

birds scurry to find high and dry quarters
to rest their chordal selves at dusk
while we mosey back to humble trusting
like sleepy horses, satisfied with afternoon lusting
