Listening In

‘Listening In’ – by Kathryn Lamberg

Walking in green grass
as afternoon blends
it’s garish colors of
hot oranges
loud yellows
blood pulsing reds–
to a more meditational
hue, of soft purples,
even green, and blues.
thinking of how i felt
when i first met you:
my impressions
hardly based on anything-
just breathing in your aura:
a swirl of sweet clementines,
soaked in mayberry wine-
with one white lotus flower
within hollowed out oak.
room for rain to fall,
space for stars to dance-
a place for souls to talk,
to saturnize- not theorize
as words from hearts do
spin soft yarns, to touch
textures, simple weaves,
staying true. to ancestral voices
being drawn in, painted in shimmering
cimmaron, cranberry bogs, hydrangea
silver blue, shining in darkest night.
heat making blossoms heavy,
closer to kissing ground cover
looking up at sky’s canopy,
harmony happens–
when we side-step-
get outta the way,
just stay,
listening in
to stars dancing.
