this month of sudden change

this month of sudden change
filling the sky with huge clouds
brightest of blue skies

crisp red leaves pressed up
against the stunning blue sky
breathless i do sigh

its the suddenness
of all this beauty, that brings
me to thoughts of you

where the sun shines less
and weather suffers fewer
extremes-as our souls

balanced beams of love
carry more strength-- do endure
with less highs and lows

reaching a little
further across the nation
patience-our great composer
