an absent-minded moon
leaves much to be desired;
oh won't it be present
to it's own waxing ways
as the less direct, but still strong sun,
burns a hole through summer dresses-
leaving room for ombre woolens,
and wooden bowl of persimmons
we still moon bathe outside the windows
closing in the calendar month, september;
red japanese maple brightens
below the growing milk drenched moon
