the first moments of day
thoughts of wishing quiet, stillness
to wash over me like a minted waterfall

as i go within, the sounds of morning
emerge more sharply; as simple as closing
my eyes, and allowing listening

first cars of commuters, shooshing
down the wet streets- rain left
while we were quietly sleeping

sky, brightening
soft blues powder up
the darker complexion of night
